SOMEthing to THINK about
In the centuries after his crucifixion Jesus was depicted, in the early Christian church, as clean-shaven and having short hair. It was not untill the sixth century, that Jesus appeared on murals, iconic art and paintings with long, dark hair and a beard. Jesus had to look more like Zeus and Jupiter, pagan, bearded and longhaired gods.
If the early depictions shows the real Jesus, this has enormous consequences for the “Shroud of Turin”.
This intriguing relic shows the body and face of“Jesus”. Is this is the depiction of Jesus, shortly after his death on the cross? If so Jesus was about 6 feet tall, a giant compared to his fellow-Jews in those days, who were, in average, 5 .2 feet.
