ENDTIME CHRONICLES: THE BALL

It looks like a Las Vegas-gambling hall. Thousands are playing machines, gamble at roulette or are playing cards. Most of them look human.

In the middle of this giant hall a giant glass ball, 30 yards in diameter, was slowly spinning around.

When we approach, the sounds engulf you, entities, some are human, bumb into you.

You can get close to it, touch it if you want, but you can only interfere with the inside using machines and computers. Hundreds were sitting at desks, with several screens staring at data or manipulating consoles and key-boards. It was obvious, that they were betting. Gambling on the outcome of events happening inside the Ball. Slightly above the gamblers, about 30 luxury sky-boxes were placed. Some were dark, but most were brightly lit and you could see people, some human, standing on the balconies, drinking and watching the “Ball”.

What is this “Ball”? And what is happening inside of it.

The ball is giant glass sphere in which the planet Earth is slowly spinning around in a 24-hour day/night cycle. Seas rise and fall; cyclons spin around. It is possible to zoom in to conflict-zones, draught-zones, volcanic eruptions and flooding. All necessary financial and economical variables are available. Players use complex algorithms to manipulate data and the people using them. They come from all over the known Cosmos to play, to bet and to win, of course. They bring their own, if allowed, hard- and software, to break the Code, the key to a continuous flow of wealth and win the Game.

In the sky-boxes you find the ones, who broke the Code in the Past. They are super-wealthy and get richer day-by-day. Because of their status, they have the possibilities to directly intervene on our planet. They create disasters, epidemics, ignite conflicts and manufacture economic crashes. These groups are ruthless and only in it for the money. At this level, the “Magic 30”, introduced a new goal: World domination (religious, economic, military).

This, so-called “33^rd” level, was introduced during World War 1 and is now nearing its end. That is why there are so many tourists, from Earth and elsewhere, to rent a desk, This takes years on the waitinglist.

The sky-box are filled standard with the latest terminals and global data-access. All are owned or hired by geo-political powerhouses, financial empires and ancient royal or religious factions, mostly human. Like I said, the end of this came of Risk is in sight. Winner takes all.
