IN SEARCH OF THE LOST TEMPLAR TREASURE

CATALOGUE

Except golden coins, silver, jewellery and precious stones, the Templars also possessed ancient artefacts and religious idols, they had obtained, by excavation, trade or otherwise, several objects, dating back over two-thousandyear ago, or dating from the times of Jesus Christ. Named are the “veil or shroud of Turin”, which appeared in France for the first time around ad. 1200. It changed hands several times before it came into the hands of the Catholic church and was brought to Turin.

But other, more mysterious and elusive, items are named as being part of the treasure. Such as a part of the Real Cross, on which Jesus died; Solomons magical ring, the Arc of the Covenant, a Baphomet, a talking head, made of metal and the Holy Grail.

This object is not clearly defined in ancient texts. It was supposed to be the cup, from which Jesus drank during the Last Supper, calling the wine a supplement for his blood. It was supposed to have magical power. In the Arthurian Legends, the Grail becomes more personal; a symbol of purification and the exploration of your soul.

These precious objects, are not the only relics, to be found. The Templars collected and studied ancient codexes and manuscripts, one of them being the Secret Gospel of Mark, now lost.

During their stay in the Holy Land, the Templar Knights were influenced by Arabic traditions, like Hasjisism, the devinely inspired, through the use of hasjish, murderers and mercenaries. Another source is the Judaeic magical tradition, called the Kaballah. These traditions and used methods were almost unknown in the West. Documents describing the ways the Templars used this Oriental input, could be part of the find.
